“ Stumbled across this restaurant because we were in the area and starving! It was fairly late at night around 10pm on a Saturday, so many places had already closed and we were grateful to find this spot! We were greeted and seated right away by the same gal that became our server. She was very friendly, but the gal who came around bussing/taking away plates was so sweet and had the biggest smile on her face. We noticed that the menu was definitely higher in price than most of the Mexican restaurants we normally frequent, but only about $2 or so more per dish. My husband got enchiladas and I got fish tacos with beans and rice. About $22 for the fish tacos plate felt like a bit much, but the servings weee massive, so I can now understand the pricing. My husbands chicken enchiladas were a bit on the pinkish side, but given that it was so late, he didn't want to send the dish back and he ended up just fine, didn't get sick or anything. Definitely very tasty food here! I especially loved the salsa and slaw that they give you when you first sit down. It definitely has a kick to it, but I didn't mind the heat. I got a mezcal mule that was refreshing. My husband got a classic margarita and it was quite sweet. So if you prefer a less sweet cocktail, maybe go for the skinny marg. I noticed that they have server locations in metro Denver, so will absolutely try another one if we see it in a different area! ”

“ Went on a 3 hour hike and winged this place in the way back and it did not disappoint! They have the largest menu I have ever seen absolutely so many things to choose from and the food is authentically delicious from the ceviche to the 7 mares! Don't forget to ask for salsa as you can tell it's homemade and fresh. Place was busy but service was great and food came out quick. ”

“ Out and about we decided on Mexican food. What a good idea. This is a really nice place. The restaurant is clean and painted in vibrant color. We sat down and were promptly visited by our excellent waiter. He made some suggestions and took our drink order. We also got some complementary chips and salsa. I had the Machaca Enchiladas and they were fantastic! It's a really nice place with great service and even better food. ”

“ Had seen their ads on television and decided to try El Tequileno. Glad I did, this is a solid choice for very good Tex Mex food. Menu is huge with lots of choices and combinations. The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious -- roasted tomatoes make the difference. The chicken mole enchiladas tender and tasty with the mole sauce. Service was exceptional. Food was served promptly, piping hot. Inside the booths are comfortable and the decor is brightly painted walls and lots of Mexican items. The well stocked tequila bar looked amazing --gotta go back for that. ”

“ Came to eat here after taking a walk and I'm so happy we found this place. To start our server was amazing and made us feel so welcomed. They have such a family vibe and we feel really comfortable and relax. They do have a huge menu and everything looked great. To start I had a red bull Margarita which was huge and delicious. We also shared a chicken taquitos which itself could be a meal. The chicken was moist and flavorful. For entree I had the fajitas de mar which was shrimp , baby octopus and a whole fish filet inside a pineapple with rice, beans and the fix. I think my seafood was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I was not a fan of the beans but that's just me. We also had the carnitas enchiladas which were also absolutely delicious and packed with pork. I do think some things were a bit overpriced, but overall we had an amazing time and amazing food. I recommend to try. ”

“ While on vacation in Colorado, we discovered some delicious Mexican food, and this place was one of them. Friendly staff, prompt service, festive atmosphere, reasonable prices, hearty portions, and tasty food. We knew we were in for a treat as soon as the chips and salsa were delivered, along with a delicious cabbage slaw with zesty lime. I'm not sure exactly what this was, but it was yummy. My son loved the carne asada plate, with tender skirt steak, creamy beans, and spicy fresh pico de gallo. The combination plates are inexpensive, and I tried the medio w/ a Chile Relleno and a picadillo burrito. Saucy, cheesy, filling, and satisfying. The menu is large, with something for everyone, and everything sounded and looked delicious. When in Golden, skip the Coors and get yourself some tequila and food from Tequileno! ”
